Hedera Donates Cross-Ledger Protocol Code to Linux Foundation
Hedera's Hashgraph unit has contributed its bridgeless CLPR protocol to Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust Labs, inviting developers to test the technology.
Hedera's Hashgraph division has contributed its newly developed Cross-Ledger Protocol Reference, known as CLPR, to the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust Labs, a move the company says is intended to broaden developer access and accelerate experimentation with bridgeless blockchain interoperability.
The contribution places the protocol's code within an open, vendor-neutral environment, a structure historically used to attract enterprise and independent developer communities to emerging infrastructure standards. Bridgeless cross-ledger technology aims to enable communication between separate blockchain networks without relying on the intermediary bridge mechanisms that have been frequent targets of security exploits in the decentralized finance sector.

Alongside the code donation, Hashgraph announced the launch of a Cross-Ledger Early Adopter Program. The initiative offers participants full access to a Hashgraph-hosted testnet environment, giving developers a sandboxed setting in which to evaluate and build on the protocol before any broader deployment.
The dual announcement — an open-source contribution paired with an early adopter recruitment drive — follows a pattern common among blockchain infrastructure firms seeking to establish their technical standards as industry defaults by cultivating community adoption ahead of competitors. Whether the Linux Foundation affiliation accelerates that outcome will likely depend on developer uptake in the months following the testnet launch.
